I’m Misty Dawn Lakota — an enrolled member of the Oglala Sioux Tribe, a Combat Veteran, and the hands behind every belt you see here. The morning star has guided my people across the northern plains for generations. It stands for the arrival of light — the moment the day begins. I put that mark on my work because each belt begins the same way: early, by hand, with intention.
At one bench
Every belt that leaves my bench is cut, tooled, and finished by hand — one at a time, from heavyweight vegetable-tanned leather. Hand-set conchos, original designs, and tooling you won’t find anywhere else, because no two belts are alike. Ten colors. Four widths — 3″, 3½”, 4″, and 4.25″ — for women, men, and children. Belts run $300–$500, depending on the belt and the type requested. Made with care and good thoughts.
Fashion, powwow, regalia
Everyday belts ready to wear or made to order. Powwow belts built for the circle — order 4–6 weeks ahead of the season. Regalia work is fully custom: measured to you, designed with you, finished for the moment it’s made for.

My work is guaranteed. If your belt breaks, send it back — I’ll fix it, or refund your money. Standard belts take 3–5 days at the bench; shipping is a flat $15.
Every belt sold here is cut, tooled, painted, and finished by hand by me — Misty Dawn Lakota, enrolled member of the Oglala Sioux Tribe. Some pieces carry vintage beadwork, horsehair, or mother of pearl I find and give new life: set by my hands, not made by them, origin unknown. When a belt carries found work, its listing says so.
