Aŋpó Wičháȟpi — the Dawn Star
I’m Misty Dawn Lakota — an enrolled member of the Oglala Sioux Tribe and the one pair of hands behind every belt you see here. The morning star has guided my people across the northern plains for generations. It stands for the arrival of light — the moment the day begins. I put that mark on my work because each belt begins the same way: early, by hand, with intention.
Every belt is cut, tooled, and finished by hand from heavyweight vegetable-tanned leather — hand-set conchos, original designs, ten colors, three widths. Made with care and good thoughts. My work is guaranteed: if it breaks, send it back — I’ll fix it, or refund your money.
Ordering is a conversation
1. Message @dawnstarbelts on Instagram — the belt that caught your eye, or the custom piece in your mind.
2. Settle the details — size, color, hardware, deadline. Belts run $300–$500 depending on the belt and type; custom orders take a 50% deposit.
3. It’s made, then it ships — secure payment link, flat $15 shipping, 3–5 days at the bench for standard belts.
Every piece sold here is handmade by an enrolled member of the Oglala Sioux Tribe and is marketed as authentic Native American-made in accordance with the Indian Arts and Crafts Act of 1990 (P.L. 101-644).
